We are proud to have hosted spectacular fundraising awards dinners to celebrate the achievements of stars from the world of sport, screen and stage. Among the many legends celebrated in this way are The Bee Gees, Neil Sedaka, Sir Alex Ferguson CBE, Daniel O'Donnell, Jimmy Osmond and Joe Longthorne.
The region is supported by a fantastic committee of volunteers. They are all pro-active in helping us to raise both funds and the charity’s profile.
Please get in touch with our team to find out how you can get involved with Variety North West as we look forward to many more exciting years ahead!

Variety mourns the passing of David Gest
Everyone here at Variety, the Children’s Charity, was saddened to learn of the passing of David Gest. An entertainer in the truest sense of the word, the producer and showbusiness icon was a universally popular figure on both sides of the Atlantic. His warmth and good humour made him loved by millions.
A self-professed Anglophile, David was staunchly committed to leaving a legacy of hope and good-will to future generations in his adopted country. Over the years, he became a firm friend of Variety, particularly within the North and North West regions. Whatever the pressures of his busy schedule, David was always the first to volunteer his time – presiding at charity auctions, donating one-of-a-kind memorabilia or hosting and performing at special concerts to raise funds for the sick, disabled, and disadvantaged children we help.
We are very grateful for David’s kindness and many years of support, and extend our sincere condolences to all of David’s family and friends at this difficult time. He will be fondly remembered by all at Variety.
