Variety is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of comedian Eddie Large at the age of 78.

A gentle, funny man, he was best known for being part of the comedy double act Little and Large, and was a well-known television personality during the 1970s and 80s.

For over 20 years, Eddie was a close friend of Variety in Bristol and the South West, where he lived. He presented several Sunshine Coaches in the region and supported many local Variety events. He was always extremely kind to the children Variety helps, and took a great interest in the schools supported by the Sunshine Coach programme.

As a keen golfer, Eddie also supported Variety Golf for many years, where he is remembered with great fondness.

He will be missed by all at Variety who had the pleasure of working with him.
