A special school in Pudsey, Leeds which has 170 pupils with ages ranging from 3 to 19 years old, celebrated the New Year with a brand new Variety Sunshine Coach which was presented to West SILC by the Winston Churchill’s Britain at War Museum Charitable Trust.

West SILC, principal, Michelle Wilman, said:

“Over the years we have been fortunate enough to be the recipient of several Sunshine Coaches and currently have three on the road. The addition of the new coach is a great way to start the New Year and means we now have two coaches with wheelchair lifts which is brilliant as we have 20 pupils who are wheelchair users. The coaches enable us to enrich the lives and curriculum of our pupils. We use the transport for a wide range of activities including taking the children out for community visits. These include visits to cafés and shops which boosts their confidence – through to museums and residential trips.”
