On the 13th June “The House Beauty Spa” hosted another of its successful book club event in the Marquee of the Liverpool Cricket Club. Judy Murray, mother of world champion tennis players Andy and Jamie Murray has written her first book ‘Knowing the Score’. Judy who herself has won 64 tennis titles in her career, but is now better known for revolutionising British tennis in coaching skills and supporting more woman in the tennis Industry.

Whilst raising much-needed funds for Variety, the Children’s Charity in Merseyside, the guests were all welcomed into the Marquee with a champagne reception. On the night, each guest was treated to a wonderful two-course meal and received a House Beauty Spa goody bag, which included a Guinot gift set along with a personally signed copy of the book ‘Knowing the Score’.

Judy gave an insight into her family and tennis career before a question and answer session with the audience.

Judy said:

“I hope hearing my experience will offer women confidence and encouragement to overcome the inevitable obstacles they confront – not just in sport, but throughout life. I am thrilled to be invited by ‘The House Beauty Spa’ and to support Variety in Merseyside.”

‘The House Beauty Spa’ operates two beautiful urban day spas in Allerton and Childwall in South Liverpool, offering luxury beauty treatments. The book club has gathered momentum over the years and past authors who have visited include Judy Finnegan, Martina Cole and Lynda La Plante and to date has raised thousands of pounds for Variety.

The next book club event will be an audience with Lynda La Plante talking about her new book ‘Good Friday’ on 8th September.
