Variety Disability Sports Awards 2026
The Variety Disability Sports Awards are the UK’s only bi-annual awards exclusively celebrating and championing achievements in disability sports at all levels.
We aim to make the sporting world a more diverse and inclusive place. With your support we aim to enable every child the access to the specialist equipment they need and the opportunities they deserve.
From rising stars to committed volunteers, exceptional coaches and teams achieving great things, the awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise those who go above and beyond to break down barriers, inspire others and champion inclusion through sport.
In 2026, the awards took place at @sohoplace in London on 12 October, recognising outstanding individuals and organisations making a difference across disability sport, including Paralympic champion Richard Whitehead MBE, para-athlete Melanie Woods and the England Women’s Blind Football Team.
The awards also celebrated those working to make sport more accessible, from inclusive schools and innovative initiatives to the dedicated individuals helping others participate and thrive.
Access to sport plays a key role in building self-esteem, raising aspirations and facilitating positive social interactions.
Variety, the Children’s Charity is proud to fund sports specific wheelchairs and equipment to enable disadvantaged and disabled children to participate in a wide range of sports and activities. Our Sunshine Coaches provide accessible transport to sports facilities for thousands of children every year.
