Pupils from Greenhill Primary School, Leeds were presented with a Variety Sunshine Coach on Thursday 30th August by His Serene Highness Prince Albert and Her Serene Highness Princess Charlène of Monaco.

This is the second time in less than a year that T.S.H. the Prince and Princess of Monaco have made a trip to Yorkshire to support the Variety, the Children’s Charity.

Last September the Princely couple were guests of honour at a ball held at Harewood House to mark the 50thanniversary of the Yorkshire Committee of Variety; an event which raised over £250,000 for the charity.

The Sunshine Coach presentation took place at the Leeds offices of the Evans Property Group. The Evans family are long time supporters of the charity and were the main sponsors of the Variety ball.

Jane McDermid, Deputy Headteacher at Greenhill Primary School, said:

“The children have been in a state of high excitement about meeting a real Prince and Princess. This is our first Sunshine Coach and will open up lots of exciting opportunities which will help to enhance our pupils’ lives. It will enable us to offer them experiences at no, or very little cost by providing a rich and varied curriculum, including educational and cultural outings and overnight and weekend residential trips.”

Ian Leach, chairman of the Yorkshire Committee of Variety, said:

“We are delighted to welcome His Serene Highness Prince Albert and Her Serene Highness Princess Charlène back and are extremely grateful to them for taking time out of their busy schedule to personally present a Sunshine coach.”

Thank you very much to His Serene Highness, Prince Albert, and Her Serene Highness, Princess Charlene, for taking the time to present this Sunshine Coach – we are very grateful for your wonderful support!
