The children and staff at Gosden House School were delighted to receive a Variety Sunshine Coach sponsored by European Recycling Company (ERC) and have already planned a number of trips including one to the coast.

The children were told about their Sunshine Coach during morning assembly and showed their appreciation to Variety and the sponsor ERC by signing a special rendition of ‘Wheels of the bus’ before going outside to see their bus for the first time.

Gosden House School provides a personalised education for children with a range of complex learning difficulties. The minibus will enable pupils to access a wide variety of opportunities such as swimming, riding and community visits as well as curriculum visits to reinforce social skills learnt within the school environment.

Head of School, Fiona Williams commented:

“All children benefit from educational trips into the wider community. It is especially important for our young people so that they can access fun challenging opportunities that bring their curriculum to life amongst other things and enables them to practice real life skills. The school would like to thank their sponsors European Recycling Company (ERC) and Variety, the Childrens Charity for their lovely coach and we are delighted that we are now on the road.”

ERC (European Recycling Company) part of the SOEX Group, the largest clothes and shoe recycling company in the world has been associated with Variety for many years in providing an opportunity for people all over the UK to give a new lease of life to their unwanted shoes and clothes.

There are thousands of ERC recycling banks displaying the Variety logo all over the UK offering the general public a convenient opportunity to reduce the amount of shoes and clothes sent to landfill sites and help Variety to support more children to have a better life in childhood.
