Excited St Clements and Bethany school children and their teachers from Boscombe, Bournemouth, enjoyed a day out at Longdown Farm, Ashurst, in the New Forest, thanks to Variety, the Children’s Charity. The young carers had fun bottle-feeding the calves and goats, feeding the pigs and going on a bumpy tractor ride, as well as meeting chicken, ducks, geese and guinea pigs.

Lunches were donated by Variety committee members Barry Smith and Cristi Cornelius, and each child went home with a party bag full of goodies including £20 Tesco vouchers donated by committee members Lennie and Lorraine Segal from Westover Jewellers.

Chair of Variety Wessex, Frances Cornelius, said:

“A big thank you to everybody who helped to ensure these very special children had the most memorable day, particularly Barry Smith and Barry Fitzgerald who were in attendance and joined in the fun”.
