What we do

All over the UK there are children who have to cope with sickness, disability or disadvantage. It’s tough. Really tough.

We provide practical, tangible help that makes an immediate difference to those children and their families.

The benefits

A wheelchair doesn’t just provide mobility. It lets the child ‘join in’ with the other kids.

Providing a special-needs school with a Sunshine Coach gives its pupils access to a much wider range of activities and experiences.

Last year we provided 70 wheelchairs, 63 Sunshine coaches and 182 grants for specialist equipment.

For a disadvantaged child, a day at the seaside becomes a cherished childhood memory.

Each year we take tens of thousands of children on great days out through our Great Days Out Programme.

We help fund children’s hospitals and hospices, creating environments that are more welcoming and reassuring. Children cared for at home are given specialist equipment to alleviate the symptoms of chronic conditions, improve their everyday care and help reduce stress for both children and parents.

Youth clubs receive funding for equipment, enabling them to offer more facilities, attracting vulnerable young people and keeping them off the street.

That’s what we mean by making a difference.

Please Note: From time to time, the Charity may in exceptional circumstances partner with other organisations in fundraising initiatives aimed at providing mobility and independence for young people.
