Even with just an entry level sports wheelchair it soon became apparent that Dylan had an exceptional talent for the game and is now in the Scottish U19 squad. He also plays at club level for Carlisle Panthers, the Cumbria Wheelchair Sports Club.

Dylan had the potential to reach international standard but to do that he needed a bespoke chair that would enable him to play to his full capability. That’s what Variety funded and it was delivered just in time for his first training session with Team Scotland.

He is now competing in the Junior Championships and Sainsbury’s School Games for Scottish under 19’s . Both Dylan and his mum are absolutely delighted as these competitions are often the precursor to Team GB and Olympic standards. For someone who cannot walk unaided, a trip to Rio 2016 may not be so far away.
