This year’s Yorkshire Property Awards organised by the Yorkshire region of Variety were a ‘sell out’ raising over £100,000 for Variety.

The event (which was compered by Nik Wood, BBC business correspondent) was attended by over 800 people who packed into a marquee at Rudding Park, Harrogate for the event which marked a resurgence in the region’s property market and recognised some of the best players and developments of 2014.

Once again, the law firm Addleshaw Goddard were the main sponsors of the Property Awards and presented DTZ with Best Investment Agency Award and Land Securities with the Corporate Social Responsibility Award.

Martin Farrington from Leeds City Council picked up the prestigious Lifetime Achievement/Property Personality award whilst Muse Developments beat off stiff competition to win Best Commercial Development for its work on the Doncaster Civic and Cultural Quarter – Phase 1.

Gent Visick was named as Best Small Agency Practice whilst Barclays presented the Best Industrial Agency to Jones Lang LsSalle and Best Office Agency went to Knight Frank.
GMI Construction came out on top as Best Contractor and Best Retail Agency was won by Central Retail.

Duncan Syers, chairman of the Yorkshire committee of Variety, the Children’s Charity and one of the organisers of the Yorkshire Property Awards, said:

“We are delighted with the positive response and support to this year’s awards and once again the disadvantaged and disabled children in our region will greatly benefit from the generosity of everyone who attended and, of course, our sponsors.”
