The excited year three pupils from Bethany School in Boscombe included young carers and children from the nurture group. The party was part of Variety’s Great Days Out scheme that aims to give disadvantaged children positive memories.

Pizza, sausages, chips and chocolate brownies were on the tea menu and hilarious entertainment was provided by Krazy Kev who did silly magic tricks, ran daft competitions and encouraged lots of good fun dancing. The event, organised by Variety Wessex, was not only enjoyed by children, but also by their teachers and support staff.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment

Before the Easter break, the children will be presented with chocolate eggs that have been provided by an anonymous Variety supporter.

Frances Cornelius, chair of Variety Wessex said:

We are delighted to have given another group of children a fun and enjoyable experience. Thank you to the Marsham Court Hotel staff for providing delicious party food, Krazy Kev for once again delighting the children with your fantastic show, Laguna Coaches for your reliable transport, Variety committee members and volunteers who came along to help, and everyone who contributed towards the party.

Children and carers enjoyed the party together

Elisabeth Rawson Jones, Pastoral Lead at Bethany CE Junior School, said:

Our children had a fabulous time. Krazy Kev, as usual, kept them wonderfully entertained – I don’t know where he gets all his energy from! The children love watching him and taking part. Please pass on our thanks to all those who helped make the children’s day.

The Easter Bunny has left goodies for every child in the school that will be given out at the end of term. A huge THANK YOU for these – we so appreciate your generosity.

Frances, thank you for everything that you and Variety Wessex do for our school. It allows these children a chance to be children, to have lots of fun and make some lovely memories to look back on.
