17 teams came together on 16th and 17th September on the beautiful grounds of Loch Lomond to enjoy another weekend of golfing fun they will never FOREget!

Joined by sporting legends of the Rugby world, including Martin Corry, Stephen Ferris and Robert Jones, who took part in Variety’s Invitational for the first time, treated guests on Sunday evening to a laughter-filled insight into the world of Rugby – past and present.

Teams were raring to go on the Monday morning, partaking in a shotgun start. We were delighted to be joined by three fantastic professional golfers, Carly Booth, Kelsey MacDonald, both Ladies European Tour pros and Kelly Tidy from Golfbreaks.com, who took part in our Beat the Pro, challenges raising £3,700 for Variety around the course.

After an exciting day of golf, guests sat down to dinner and enjoyed entertainment from Kev Orkian, who got the guests into a parTEE mood and ready to raise funds throughout the evening. We were honoured to be joined by Doddie Weir, Scottish Rugby Legend and guest favourite, who conducted an entertaining rendition of Heads & Tails, raising £1,300.

Most importantly the event raised almost £80,000 in total for Variety. A sizeable amount of this came from the auctioning off some spectacular donated items, including tickets to England vs New Zealand with a Sky Sports tour and several items from Calvin Klein, Sautter and Tommy Hilfiger. Our thanks go to all of those who supported this wonderful event.

Variety would like to extend a huge thank you to the event sponsor Northern Commercials, all the teams that took part and the Rugby Legends who joined us.
