We were delighted that this year we secured Matthew Oakeshott, a highly successful investment manager and leading liberal democrat politician in the House of Lords. He was a Pensions and Treasury spokesman until he resigned last february over the coalition government’s soft treatment of the Banks. We cannot argue with his timing.

Emma Crosby, the Channel 5 News key main presenter, very kindly agreed to interview our speaker Baron Oakeshott, which lead to an interesting question and answer session at our breakfast.

Following on from our inaugural breakfast last year in which Kay Burley, Sky News Anchor and Irvine Sellar commanded the stage for a scintillating interview. We were very proud of the amount raised on behalf of the grants programme for Variety, the Children’s Charity.
