This December, Variety Midlands decided to hold not one but four children’s Christmas parties as a way of celebrating 50 year’s of Variety’s ‘Great Days Out Programme’; that’s 50 years of giving children a memorable day out.

The parties were held at the Village Hotel, Solihull and were especially for children who may have an intellectual or physical disability, terminal illness or come from a low socio economic background. In total the parties brought together almost 800 sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and their carers.

Santa and his helpers ensured it’s a Christmas to remember and that every child receives a present to take home on the day along with a personal photo with Santa.

There is no cost to the children and their carers to attend this event because the party is very kindly sponsored by local businesses. This year Variety would like to say special thanks to CPC Foods-Becketts Food Group, Britannia Services Group, Hay’s Recruitment, The Village Hotel, Solihull, Hill and Smith Holdings, Pertemps, Bentley Birmingham, Lloyds Banking Group and Jaguar Land Rover.

Charlotte Allen, Regional Fundraising Manager said:

“At Variety we believe every child deserves to enjoy Christmas. That’s why with the wonderful support of local sponsors and volunteers we organise this magical event year on year providing the children a day they will never forget.”
