Celebrating its 75th year, Variety, The Children’s Charity continues its dedicated support for disabled and disadvantaged children in the UK.

The awards ceremony ensures an evening brimming with glamour, celebrity, and exceptional entertainment, maintaining the tradition of recognising outstanding achievements across various fields, including Film, TV, Comedy, Theatre and Music. The event consistently attracts a star-studded lineup of global celebrities, industry stalwarts, and influential figures. Amanda Holden will host the event, infusing her charisma and wit into the celebration.

Looking ahead to the event, Amanda shared:

I am truly honoured to again be hosting the Variety Club Showbusiness Awards, especially as this year celebrates its 75th year milestone. It’s not just an event, it’s a celebration of compassion and generosity towards those who need it most. I cannot wait to be surrounded by incredible individuals, for what promises to be an unforgettable night of fun and philanthropy. I’m hoping lots of people come together, support Variety, and make a difference in the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children.

The excitement for this year’s awards is heightened by the announcement of three new Variety Club Silver Heart Award Winners.

Dame Joan Collins will be honoured for her Outstanding Contribution to Film and Television and Global, the Media & Entertainment Group, will receive recognition for their Exceptional Contribution to the Development of UK Radio.

Dame Joan Collins said:

I am immensely grateful to be receiving the Variety Club Silver Heart Award for Outstanding Contribution to Film and Television. It is truly an honour. Variety, the Children’s Charity holds a special place in my heart, and I am thrilled to support their noble cause. Their tireless efforts in enriching the lives of children worldwide deserve our unwavering support. I eagerly anticipate the event, where we can all meet to celebrate the magic of entertainment and, more importantly, to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Thank you, Variety Club, for this recognition.

Ashley Tabor-King CBE, Founder & Executive President, Global, the Media & Entertainment Group, expressed gratitude for the upcoming award, stating:

These awards highlight remarkable contributions across various fields, and I am proud to be a part of an event that recognises and celebrates excellence.

Additionally, the Variety Club Silver Heart Award for Outstanding Achievement in Global Television and Streaming is awarded to Michelle Keegan. Recognising her Exceptional Role in the Netflix drama “Fool Me Once”.

Further winners of this year’s awards will be announced closer to the event, maintaining the element of anticipation that makes the Variety Club Showbusiness Awards a must-watch spectacle.

Last year saw deserving accolades bestowed upon luminaries such as Simon Cowell, Naomi Campbell and Edward Enninful. The ceremony featured performances from top notch artists including Gary Barlow, Katherine Jenkins, Beverley Knight and the cast of Mamma Mia.

The awards are produced by Green Room Ents for Variety, the Children’s Charity. Julian Bird, OBE, CEO of Green Room Ents Ltd, is well known for his work revitalising The Olivier Awards over the last twelve years. The 2024 awards are supported by The Londoner Hotel.
