Variety, the Children’s Charity, had a great time at the 2012 Brighton Marathon that took place on Sunday 15th April. For the first time, we also had a runner taking part in the Paris Marathon, which was also happening across the Channel on the same day.

The sun was just about shining for our trip to the South coast and it was good running conditions for our Team Variety members, who were proudly wearing their red and white chequered vests as they completed the course. Luciano was representing Variety on the continent to run the Paris Marathon and got into the French spirit by wearing a striped top, onions and a beret. He told us that he was spurred on by the crowd who shout, ‘Allez les onions!’

Brighton kicks off a busy week for Team Variety as other members are eagerly anticipating ‘the big one’ – the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Brighton Marathon, to Luciano in Paris and to all their sponsors for their donations. We are so grateful for all of your support!
