The glitterati were out in force as the Hilton Hotel on Saturday 3rd October as Hilton hosted its annual Star Ball.

Hollyoaks stars Jorgie Porter and Nicole Barber-Lane joined the city’s movers and shakers to party the night away at the Hilton Deansgate while raising funds for the DM Thomas Foundation for Young People and Variety, the Children’s Charity.

More than 400 guests enjoyed a champagne reception and a delicious four course swing music theme meal with dishes including Beyond The Sea and Toffee and all that Jazz.

Musical entertainment was provided by X Factor finalist and Dancing on Ice champion, Ray Quinn, former Heartbeat star Tricia Penrose and The Mini Big Band and surprise singing waiters Jon Christos and Danielle Thomas. All the artists were accompanied by the fantastic Jennifer Harlow Dancers.

Jorgie, who plays sassy Theresa McQueen in Hollyoaks said:

“It’s a very classy event and I love it. Everyone is so glamorous and there are lots of sequins here tonight.”

Ray, an ambassador for Variety, the Childrens Charity who had guests flocking to the dancefloor with his renditions of swing classics including ‘Beyond The Sea’ and ‘Mack The Knife’ also said he was loving every minute of the glittering black tie event.

Ray said:

“Being here supporting the both charities is a great honour for me.”

Stage and screen actor and I’m A Celebrity winner Christopher Biggins was the auctioneer at the ninth annual ball with prizes including an Apple watch, a signed One DirectionT-shirt and guitar from the group.

Hilton Manchester general manager John McLaughlin said:

“It was a wonderful evening. Once again, we opened our doors to North West movers and shakers and friends of the Hilton dug deep – raising an incredible amount of money for both hugely admirable charities.”
