On Thursday, 11th July, the legendary Sir Cliff Richard was honoured by Variety for his 60 years in the business, a feat that not many artists can even dream of.

The event, chaired by Malcolm Brenner, produced by Tony Hatch, and hosted by Variety Ambassador Gaby Roslin, featured surprise guest appearances from Bruce Welch, Brian Bennett, Una Stubbs, Paul Gambaccini, Gloria Hunniford, Jasper Carrott, and Jimmy Tarbuck, who shared never before heard stories from Sir Cliff’s extraordinary career!

The tribute took place at the London Marriott Hotel at Grosvenor Square and was attended by some of the most iconic celebrity names including Anita Harris, Susan George, Jess Conrad, Angela Rippon, Anthony Andrews, Elaine Paige, Tom O’Connor, and Stephen Bowman.

The audience was treated to an intimate performance by Sir Cliff and sang along to classic hits such as We Don’t Talk Anymore, Devil Woman, Congratulations and his latest hit, Rise Up featuring a special appearance by the powerful IDMC Gospel Choir.

During the star-studded night, Variety, the Children’s Charity surprised Sir Cliff by inducting him as a Variety Ambassador, thanking him for his ongoing support to the charity.

The sold-out event, raised funds to help improve the lives of children and young people throughout the UK. Variety Ambassador, Daniel, joined the stage and shared his story with the audience, describing first hand how his new wheelchair has improved his family’s life, giving him access to sports and especially wheelchair football.
