On Wednesday, 5th July, local Special School, Ysgol Maes Hyfryd were handed the keys to their new fully-accessible Variety Sunshine Coach.

The Morrisons Foundation agreed to fund their third Sunshine Coach in North Wales at Ysgol Maes Hyfryd, a school for children with complex needs and disabilities. This Coach will be used to give students with additional support needs access to offsite activities like swimming and horse riding, helping them to build confidence and develop independent living skills.

The presentation was attended by Sue Morris and all the Morrisons team, as well as by the members of Variety’s Merseyside committee.

Helen Johnson of Ysgol Maes Hyfryd said:

“The help and support that we have received from the Morrisons Foundation and the staff at our local Morrisons store in Connah’s Quay has been phenomenal. The new Variety Sunshine Coach will be used every day and will make a huge difference to our students.”
