Fosse Way School is a specialist school in Radstock, Somerset, which delivers education to SEND students aged 3 – 19 years old.

Many of those attending are diagnosed with conditions such Autistic Spectrum Condition, which for some young people sits alongside their physical disability.

Fosse Way will use their Sunshine Coach to transport the growing numbers of pupils to activities which enrich the curriculum and help improve life and employability skills, such as outings, work placements, visits to holiday clubs and playschemes and other activities.

Other activities will include visiting Fosse Way House, the schools’ weekday residential Centre and ‘Project Search’ a holiday playscheme.

The latest coach is the 53rd donated by St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation across 20+ years of supporting Variety, the Children’s Charity.

Welcomed by Head Teacher, Fiona Skinner, Foundation Representative Sebastian Roiz de S’a said:

“Thank you so much for having us along, it was an incredible experience and the children were wonderful.

“I’m in awe of the work being done by Fiona and her team at the Fosse Way School. The confidence and support for each other that the children displayed was testament to a caring and nurturing environment.

“My highlight was hearing from the children themselves about how this coach has, and will continue to, expand their horizons and experiences, giving them valuable life skills.

“A day that will remain with me for many years to come.”
