Daz is a prolific fundraiser and often holds Daz’s Rock 4 Charity concerts for charitable causes. Last Friday, he hosted another concert at the Trinity Centre in Bristol. He is currently raising funds towards a Variety Sunshine Coach in memory of his late mum, Mary ‘Nannie’ Sims, who sadly passed away earlier this year. All proceeds from the concert went towards Daz’s Sunshine Coach fund and the night was held in Nannie’s honour.

Mark Owen, a good friend of both Daz and Variety, organised an incredible auction prize for the event. He arranged for Francis Rossi, the lead singer and lead guitarist of legendary rock band Status Quo, to sign a guitar that found its home with one very lucky auction winner.

The night was a huge success, with performances from Daz, an OASIS tribute band called Cidernova, local singer Katie-Leigh, DJ Dampy and other special guests. As well as incredible fundraising events like Daz’s Rock 4 Charity, Daz has run seven London Marathons on behalf of Variety, one of which Mark ran with him.

Daz also climbed Ben Nevis on 22nd July 2023, along with his team: Antony Cox, Faye George, Elaine George, Chris Tunnicliffe, Harrison Sims, Hugo Sousa, Ben Caddick, and Paul Bryant. Their Just Giving page can be found here.

We would like to extend a huge heartfelt thank you to Daz, Mark, the organisers of Daz’s Rock 4 Charity, and everyone who attended and supported their fundraising efforts.
