Charity Cream Tea was held at the Cloud Hotel in Brockenhurst on Sunday 14th July as part of the Hampshire Fare Food Festival and the £958 raised is to be shared between Jacks Place at Naomi House Children’s Hospice and the Variety, the Children’s Charity.

Over 80 people came to enjoy a clotted cream tea and the weather was so lovely that many of them were able to sit and relax in the secluded garden while enjoying their tea. The scones were donated by Linzi Luker of Linzi’s of Lymington, Wrights Dairies donated the clotted cream and 3663 donated the jam.

A successful raffle was held and raised £211-00 of the total amount thanks to the hard work of Barry Rickman and Linzi Luker. A number of local businesses donated prizes and the star prize was a beautiful cushion donated by Judy Goodlet from Radio Solent who is making 60 cushions for charity to celebrate her 60th birthday.

Big thanks from Variety Wessex to Avril Owton for her fantastic ongoing support of Variety, the Children’s Charity, as without generous people such as Avril, we as volunteers would not be able to keep doing our great work for the sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in our region.
