Forest Way School in Coalville, Leicestershire, was delighted to receive the tenth Variety Sunshine Coach presented by Health Spa chain Champneys. Forest Way School is a Special Educational Needs School with pupils having a wide range of disabilities including moderate, severe and profound multiple learning difficulties, challenging behaviour, autistic spectrum disorder, downs syndrome, epilepsy, hearing and visual impairments together with complex medical needs.

The school has daily inclusion links with local schools and colleges, together with sports events throughout the county and without the Sunshine Coach the school would be unable to transport the pupils.

Bev Strong, Charity Administrator for Champneys said:

“It was a great pleasure to visit Forest Way School to present them with their new Sunshine Coach. It is a fantastic school, led by a Head Teacher whose passion is the children, seeing them so excited about their new bus was very rewarding. I know that it will be used to take the children on educational day trips and a residential break which will give them experiences they may not have otherwise”.

Lynn Slinger OBE, Head Teacher said:

“The children, staff and governors at Forest way School were delighted to receive their fantastic new Variety Sunshine Coach sponsored by local business Champneys Springs from Ashby. The pupils are really excited and are already looking forward to visits including a residential stay in Cheshire in April. Thank you.”

The Champneys team from Champney’s Springs in Ashby de la Zouch and Henlow Health Resort, are joined by Headteacher, Lynn Slinger OBE and students from the school in front of the new coach.

Bev Strong and Carol Harvey from Champneys present the keys to the coach to a delighted Headteacher, Lynn.
