Cameron Inducted as Variety Young Ambassador
16 year-old Cameron has Duchene Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle degeneration disorder, which means he is fully reliant on his wheelchair and requires 24-hour attention. When he was 14 years old, Variety provided Cameron with a Dragon Powered Chair, giving him a greater level of independence and the freedom to pursue his passion for art and wildlife. Cameron is a keen artist and sells his work to raise funds for Variety so others in a similar position can receive a life-changing wheelchair like his.
Cameron commented:
Being made a Variety Young Ambassador is a great honour. I will be proud to promote the work of Variety to other young people as their support has been life changing for me. If I didn’t have the wheelchair like this I would be sitting in bed every day all day not being able to go out anywhere.
Cameron was presented with his Variety Young Ambassador Certificate by Pamela Sinclair, Variety Chief Barker and Debbie Douglas, TOWIE cast member at Paradise Wildlife Park. This special occasion was made even more special for Cameron as it took place in the Meerkat enclosure.
