A star studded “Retro Night” in New Milton, Hampshire, raised £270 for Variety The Children’s Charity. “It was an evening of memories” said Frances Cornelius, chair of Variety Wessex, “with beautiful Anita Harris and the rather gorgeous Jess Conrad singing old favourites and finishing with a duet of the Neil Diamond favourite “Sweet Caroline”.

The entertainers, who recently featured in the ITV series “Last Laugh In Vegas”, have supported Variety for many years and greeted Frances as an old friend. There was a lot of catching up after the show at the New Milton Memorial Centre.

The money was raised via an interval raffle. Frances Cornelius thanked show promoters Ian Wooley and his partner Kristine Scanlan from Quiz Britain Productions for his support of Variety, everyone who donated some fabulous raffle prizes, Judy, Avril and Jenny for help selling the raffle tickets, Cheryl Goucher and Hattie Miles for taking photographs and a special mention for Judy for helping me with many very important tasks during the run up to each event that we attend. Of course, she also thanked Anita Harris and Jess Conrad for putting on a fantastic show that was enjoyed by everyone.

Ian Woolley said “it was a pleasure to see Anita and Jess perform and I’d like to thank everyone who came along. Variety’s Frances Cornelius and her team did a great job organising the charity raffle and it was a good amount of money raised.”
